Flowers’ Blossoms Against Legends |
|
Monday, 12 May 2008 |
|
CANTON- Express quarterback Rob Flowers has slowly grown into his starting role this season. Each game he looks more polished and has begun to limit his mistakes. Saturday night, Flowers took another step forward by helping the Express to a 67-54 win over the rival Canton Legends, thus eliminating Canton from playoff contention.
Flowers had his best game of the season, leading the Express to a season-high 67 points by throwing seven touchdowns and zero interceptions. He also threw for a season high 229 yards. The offense kept trading blow-for-blow with Canton’s new-improved offense and the ball was spread around to several different players.
Carmelo Ocasio led the way in the touchdown department. He had seven catches for 65 yards and three scores. Terrance Hudson had four catches for 91 yards and two scores, while, Jeff Willis had five catches for 61 yards and a score.

It’s never too late to get caught up in the excitement that is Reading Express Indoor Football. With a playoff push set to begin as we come down the home stretch, we at the Express are very excited about the opportunity to try and bring a championship home to Reading, and so are some of our fans! Here is what one current season ticket holder had to say about the Express:
“I just received an automated e-mail from the SOVEREIGN CENTER CLUBHOUSE telling me about purchasing tickets for Express football games. I gotta just tell you quickly that it's true about once you come to an indoor football game, you get hooked. I'm already a Royals season ticket holder since day one, and I decided to come to the second Express game this year, just to see the product that you had to offer. I had a blast and wound up getting a season ticket. Keep up the good work and I just thought that I had to let you know how much I enjoy the EXPRESS. THANKS AGAIN.”
