| There's a new direction for the Smokin' Hot Steam Team. Gone are the days of a team that was primarily focused on dance. Going forward, the Smokin' Hot Steam team is being re-positioned as a public relations and promotional team. It's an exciting new track for the Steam Team. The move is fitting, considering the organization’s heavy community involvement in Reading and Berks County. The Steam Team has been increasingly present at all sorts of public events, and will continue to be so in the future. “It is with great enthusiasm that we are forging ahead with the new model of the team,” said Lisa Lavender, chief operating officer of the Reading Express. “The vision for the team is to play a key role in public relations and fan engagement. This is just another positive step in our initiatives to become part of Greater Reading’s culture and contribute to the efforts of making our region great.” This year’s new fashion look brings a sporty football-style uniform and a business outfit. | With a re-focused Steam Team, the Reading Express are introducing the inaugural Ambassador of the Year contest in 2011. This exciting contest is a unique way for our Steam Team to engage Berks County in general, and their respective circle of influence specifically. An added bonus: As part of the effort, each girl has chosen a charity to represent. The winner of the Ambassador of the Year contest will reap a cash donation to her charity. |
