What to include when reporting a historical correction.

Prepare a useful correction
Record the page URL and copy the sentence you believe needs changing. Describe the proposed correction in plain language. Include the title, date and location of supporting material, preferably a publicly accessible source. For an unpublished program or photograph, describe its origin and the permissions attached to it rather than assuming it can be republished.
Suggested correction format
Page: the article title or URL. Statement: the exact passage in question. Suggested change: what the record should say instead. Evidence: a source link, publication date and relevant passage. Context: any uncertainty or conflicting evidence the editor should consider.
Historical materials
Please do not send personal information about players, fans or other people unless it is necessary and appropriate for the historical point. Possessing a photograph does not necessarily give permission to publish it. A future editor should confirm rights and avoid promising publication before reviewing the material.
